CONGA
LESSONS
Are
you interested in learning how to play Congas?
Then
I can help you, I have been performing locally here in San Diego
& Los Angeles for over 10 years and continue to perform with
some of the best latin bands in Southern California.
This is a unique opportunity for a few individuals who will learn
hands on with one of the most in demand percussionist in San Diego.
Due to my performance schedule ONLY a few students will be accepted
& will have to pass an interview with me. I am ONLY looking
for those students who are committed to learn how to play the
congas and are willing to put in the effort to play this instrument
correctly.
Classes
will consist of:
Clave & Time
Conga Tones
Conga Basics
Conga History
Practical exercises
Developing your own style & maintaining the Basics
Soloing
Live performance
I
teach each student individually in 1 hour increments, once a week.
This format works great because I can focus on the individuals
needs. Each student learns at a different pace and I can focus
on the elements that need more work at there own pace.
Students
that are accepted will need to commit to a least one month of
class (4 Lessons), and will pay a discounted rate for those lessons,
after that each lesson will be paid for when the class is over
at the same discounted rate. If you don't have Congas don't worry,
I have an
extra set you can use till you decide to get your own. I can also
help you there and get you a great deal on your drums using my
professional discount.
My students will have many benefits, they will have access to
my extensive CD collection & Videos. Also my students can
be my V.I.P guests if they are old enough to see me perform at
many local venues including :
Cafe
Sevilla, Croce's Jazz Bar, Belly Up, Club Caribe, Aventuras, Cascade
Lounge (Tuesday's Palm Springs), Canyon Lounge (Wednesday's Palm
Desert), The Mayan (Los Angeles), JC Fandango (Anaheim) these
are only some of the venues I perform at as you can see this little
perk can add up $$ considering most venues I play at charge a
cover to get in.
If
your looking to get a good start to learn how to play the Congas
then this is the class for you. The class is designed for beginner
and intermediate students and developing a strong base to build
on, students will become "Congueros" if they put in
the work and commitment and time.
