Ruben is our top professional vocalist from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Ruben grew up in Chicago where he began singing at the early age of 4 years old. His unbelievable talent would only land him the spot as a lead singer for a professional merengue group at the age of 10 which consisted of eight young, energetic and talented youths who were on their way to hit the recording studio. Ruben recorded four cd's and later decided it was time to move onto bigger and better things after 3 years of dedication and endless shows. At 13 years old he joined another top local band singing salsa, merengue and cumbia. In 1983 his family moved back to Puerto Rico and his singing career was hitting big in his hometown. After several successful salsa recordings in Puerto Rico, his family then relocated to Los Angeles. Ruben got his first break as a singer in Los Angeles with Walter Segundo and later joined the Susie Hansen Band where he was a singer for 5 years. After leaving Susie Hansen's band he then began to perform with several of the top local bands in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. Ruben is one of the top vocalists in Southern California and with his amazing talent, charm, charisma and professional stage presence he has won the audience at every performance and live show as the lead male singer for Orquesta Solo Sabor.
